A: An over the range hood should be used with this range at a distance of 24” to 36” from the cooktop to the bottom of the range hood. All local codes and regulations should be followed.  Q: Are Cosmo brand appliances compatible with a downdraft ventilation system? A: Our units are not compatible with downdraft ventilation systems. Q: I smell gas when my unit is not in use.  A: Quit use of the product immediately, and turn the gas off to the unit using the unit’s manual shut-off valve located on the gas supply line. Contact your gas supplier immediately, or the fire department if the gas supplier is unavailable.  Q: Do you offer an extended warranty? A: Cosmo does not currently offer an extended warranty for any of our products. We recommend reaching out to the retailer where you purchased your item, as many extended warranties are provided and fulfilled through the retailer.  Q: Where can I find the model and serial number of my unit? A: The model and serial numbers can be found in one of three places: on the inside of the oven door jamb, on the inside of the oven door itself, or on the rear of the unit on the manufacturing sticker. We recommend writing this information down so you have it for easy reference. Q: Can I convert my range or cooktop to liquid propane gas (LP gas)?  A: All of our gas cooktops and ovens can be converted to LP gas with the use of an appropriate LP conversion kit. All conversion kits can be found online at www.cosmoappliances.com/product-category/parts-and-accessories.  Q: Why is the food cooking unevenly in my Cosmo oven? A: This can be due to many factors such as the type and quantity of food being cooked, whether or not convection mode is being used, where the food is placed in the oven, whether or not the food is being rotated during cooking, etc. We recommend trying to experiment with different foods and methods of cooking as you become accustomed to your new Cosmo oven.

COS-GRP366 FAQ

Q: Why does it smell like paint or chemicals when I use my oven for the first time? A: This is the result of residue from the manufacturing process burning off. Open all of the windows and doors in the room for proper ventilation and allow the oven to run with nothing inside for at least 45 minutes before the first use. Q: How can I tell when my oven has been preheated to the selected temperature? A: The orange or white indicator light next to your oven temperature selector will turn off when the oven has reached its set temperature. The light will cycle between on and off during the cooking cycle, as the flame is re-lit and extinguished to preserve the set temperature. The oven will take 10-20 minutes to preheat depending on the set temperature.  Q: How do I remove the oven racks for cleaning? A: If your racks are on sliders, the sliders are resting on the guides and must be removed along with the oven racks. If your oven racks do not have a slider/caster, they can simply be slid all the way out and removed. Q: Does my range come with a manufacturer’s warranty? A: This range includes a 1-year manufacturer’s warranty with your new purchase from an authorized retailer. To view a list of authorized retailers, please visit www.cosmoappliances.com/locations.  Q: Where can I find the warranty terms for this product? A: The warranty terms are available here. Your unit is covered for both parts and labor for 1 year from the date of purchase.  Q: All of my burners are clicking or sparking when I turn any of them on. A: The burners on this unit will spark when you attempt to ignite any of them. This is normal operation and is an intentional side effect of the cooktop’s design. Q: Why is hot air blowing out from the top of my oven door? A: Your oven is equipped with a cooling fan to better regulate the temperature between the oven cavity and the external walls of the unit. This is an advanced safety feature to help prevent burns when touching any of the panels, knobs, or the door handle. There are two vent locations: the top of the oven door, and behind the cooktop. This is intended by design and is normal operation. Q: Why is my unit producing black soot when in use? A: The most common cause of black soot being produced when using either the oven or the cooktop is an improper propane mixture or conversion. Check the propane gas source first, then review the LP conversion instructions.  Q: Why does my oven’s fan continue to run with convection mode off or after the oven has been turned off? A: This is normal operation. The cooling fan will remain on during the baking cycle, regardless of the convection function, as well as after the oven has been shut off until it has sufficiently cooled.

COS-GRP366 Electrical Installation Troubleshooting – 120V

Gas range or cooktop No power or low power. Check that the unit is plugged in and the breaker is switched to ON. Check that the voltage is correct for your unit according to the installation manual – 110/120V, 60Hz, and 15 to 20 Amps. Turn the breaker to the OFF position and wait 5 minutes. Turn the breaker back to the ON position and attempt to use the unit again. We advise that electrical installation be performed by a qualified, licensed electrician. If installation was not performed by a licensed professional, contact one as soon as possible to verify that the power is adequate for your unit and has been safely connected.

Calibrate COS-GRP366 Cooktop Burners

Read all instructions carefully before beginning. Light two other burners and turn the control knob to medium. This will ensure the burner’s flame does not extinguish when other burners are turned on. Light the burner needing calibration and turn the control knob to the lowest setting. Remove the control knob. Insert a small, flat-head screwdriver into the adjustment screw or control knob valve stem, and slowly turn the screw until the flame appearance is correct. Open the valve more (counter-clockwise) if the flames are too small or fluttered, or the flame extinguishes entirely. Close the valve more (clockwise) if the flames are too large. Replace the control knob. Test the flame by turning the control from “LO” to “HI,” checking the flame at each setting. Repeat the above steps for each burner.

Adjust COS-GRP366 Regulator for LP Gas

Figure 1-A Figure 1-B Figure 1-C Read all instructions carefully before beginning. NOTE: Your regulator may not match the images exactly, but the procedure will remain the same. Disconnect all electrical power at the main circuit breaker or fuse box. Shut off the gas supply to the unit by closing the manual shut-off valve. Unscrew the cap on the regulator using a wrench as shown in Figure 1-A. Unscrew and remove the retainer pin that is currently positioned for natural gas as shown in Figure 1-B. The position shown in Figure 1-B is the natural setting. If the retainer pin has not yet been flipped, remove the retainer pin and re-insert into the cap as shown in Figure 1-C. Replace the regulator cap and tighten using a wrench. Your regulator is now set up for LP gas.
