I bought this along with my Cosmo ductless range hood since I needed a renter-friendly way to improve ventilation and cut down on food smells. I’ve been using the filter for about a week now, and honestly, it’s been way better than I expected. It looks nice, installation was easy, and even though the fit felt slightly off at first, once it snapped into place, it stayed secure.
Before this, I was stuck with a downdraft vent built into the stove that barely worked. I used to rely on a pedestal fan, a window vent, and keeping doors open just to get some airflow when cooking or baking. (I’m renting and the kitchen layout is just… not great.) Even then, smells would linger and drift into my bedroom, so I’d end up lighting candles to deal with it.
With the ductless Cosmo hood and this carbon filter, it’s honestly a huge improvement. Like night and day. It does a really good job keeping odors from spreading. I’d say around 90% of the smell gets absorbed based on what I’ve noticed so far, which is a big difference for me. Hopefully it holds up just as well over time. Also, getting two filters for a good price is great, and it makes it easy to replace them regularly without spending too much.
