Cuban Sandwich Recipe
Cuban Sandwich recipe. Also known as the Cubano, this mouthwatering street food delight features layers of flavorful ingredients sandwiched between crusty bread and pressed to perfection. Packed with ham, roasted pork, Swiss cheese, pickles, and mustard.
Ingredients:
- Cuban bread or French bread, cut into sandwich-sized pieces
- Roast pork, thinly sliced
- Ham, thinly sliced
- Swiss cheese, thinly sliced
- Dill pickles, thinly sliced lengthwise
- Yellow mustard
- Butter, softened
Instructions:
- Preheat a sandwich press or grill pan over medium heat.
- Slice the Cuban bread or French bread pieces horizontally and spread mustard on both halves.
- Layer the bottom half of each sandwich with slices of roast pork, ham, Swiss cheese, and pickles.
- Close the sandwiches with the top halves of the bread.
- Spread softened butter on the outside of each sandwich.
- Place the sandwiches on the preheated sandwich press or grill pan.
- Press the sandwiches down with a spatula or sandwich press lid and cook for 3-5 minutes, or until the bread is golden brown and the cheese is melted.
- Carefully remove the sandwiches from the press or grill pan and let them cool slightly.
