Brazilian Chicken Croquettes Recipe

Brazilian Chicken Croquettes has a crispy exterior and a savory, creamy filling.

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups shredded cooked chicken
  • 1/2 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Oil, for frying

Instructions:

  1. In a saucepan, sauté the onion and garlic in butter until translucent.
  2. Add the shredded chicken to the pan and cook until heated through.
  3. Pour in the chicken broth and simmer until most of the liquid has evaporated.
  4. Season the chicken mixture with salt and pepper to taste, then remove from heat and let it cool.
  5. Take a small portion of the chicken mixture and shape it into a teardrop or drumstick shape.
  6. Roll the shaped chicken mixture in flour, then dip it in beaten eggs, and finally coat it with breadcrumbs.
  7. Heat oil in a deep fryer or large skillet to 350°F (175°C).
  8. Fry the Coxinha in batches until golden brown and crispy, about 5-7 minutes.
  9. Remove from oil and drain on paper towels.
  10. Serve the Coxinha hot and enjoy the authentic flavors of Brazilian street food!
