Minnesota Hotdish Recipe combines hearty ingredients like ground beef, tender vegetables, and creamy mushroom soup, all baked to golden perfection under a layer of crispy tater tots.
Ingredients:
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 cups mixed vegetables (such as peas, carrots, and corn)
- 1 can (10.5 oz) condensed cream of mushroom soup
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
- 2 cups frozen tater tots
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
Instructions:
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish and set aside.
- In a large skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned and no longer pink. Drain any excess grease from the skillet.
- Add the diced onion and minced garlic to the skillet with the cooked ground beef. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, until the onion is translucent.
- Stir in the mixed vegetables, condensed cream of mushroom soup, beef broth, and Worcestershire sauce. Season with salt and black pepper, to taste. Simmer for 5-7 minutes, until the vegetables are tender and the mixture is heated through.
- Transfer the beef and vegetable mixture to the prepared baking dish, spreading it out evenly.
- Arrange the frozen tater tots in a single layer on top of the beef and vegetable mixture, covering the entire surface.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the tater tots are golden and crispy.
- Remove the hotdish from the oven and sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese evenly over the top.
- Return the hotdish to the oven and bake for an additional 5 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Serve the Minnesota Hotdish hot and enjoy the comforting flavors of the Midwest!
