COS-C51EIX Oven Troubleshooting

  1. Bake and/or Broil will not turn on. The clock on my unit may be blank:
    1. Confirm with a licensed electrician that the unit has been installed properly: Electrical Installation Troubleshooting.
    2. The display can sometimes go out during a power surge, or when the oven heats over a safe level and triggers the internal thermal fuse.
    3. Reset the breaker powering the unit, and start a standard bake cycle.
      1. Turn the breaker to the OFF position.
      2. Wait 5 minutes.
      3. Turn the breaker to the ON position.
      4. Set the clock on the unit.
      5. Set a cook time:
        1. Press the center function button until the bar above the (dish with heat waves – no X) is flashing.
        2. Press the + and – buttons to set the cook time.
      6. Use the left knob to select the standard Convection Cooking function.
      7. Use the right knob to select 350 F.
      8. The oven should turn on and begin heating. It will stop automatically once the set timer has ended.
    4. If the oven still does not turn on, contact support or a qualified technician for further troubleshooting and diagnosis.
  2. Convection bake is consistently under or over the set temperature by more than 30 degrees or Broil does not reach MAX temperature:
    1. Check that the unit has been installed properly: Electrical Installation Troubleshooting.
    2. Check that the thermometer being used is properly calibrated. If necessary, purchase a new thermometer.
    3. Check that your personal oven thermometer is placed in the center of the oven, and that the oven has been given sufficient time to preheat, typically 10-20 minutes.
    4. Wait for the oven to cool completely to prevent burns or other injuries. Next, locate the thermostat probe in the top or rear of the oven cavity, which looks similar to this. If the thermostat probe is dislodged or crooked, attempt to reconnect it to the mounting clip(s).
    5. Confirm that any extra foil, materials, pots, pans, etc. are removed except for the ones currently in use for cooking.
    6. Contact support or a qualified technician for further troubleshooting and diagnosis.
